Oakton collaborated with Maine East High School to host an estimated 70 parents and daughters in a discussion on strategies to encourage girls to major in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Speakers included Aida Awad, Jodi Wachowski, David Schultz, Becky Stewart and four Green Girls from Maine East High School. Role models from NanoInk, BP and Society of Women Engineers, Women in Science and Engineering Program at University of Illinois at Chicago, NASA Ambassador, Triton College, and Oakton represented a vareity of STEM fields.
A big thanks to everyone who made the event a success.
